Banjo, composer
A jazz musician who studied double bass at the Sydney Conservatorium and fell for the banjo during the pandemic. Writes the tunes, then records and mixes them at Peppermint Grove Studios.
Miles
For Miles is named after Nick's parents' border collie, who kept him company in Kurrajong, an idyllic pocket of the Hawkesbury, where much of Home was composed and arranged.
The Dyarubbin
Nick grew up near the mighty Dyarubbin, the Hawkesbury River. A new understanding of its geological and cultural history led to Across the Hawkesbury (Dyarubbin).
Peppermint Grove
The home studio Nick built with Chris and Emily-Rose during lockdown, on Dharawal Country, looking out on Heathcote National Park. Home was recorded there, and both albums were mixed there.
Four Winds
It'll Be Alright was recorded in the Windsong Pavilion at Four Winds, a specially designed acoustic space nestled in the bush on the NSW South Coast, usually home to classical chamber groups.
